University of Findlay Courses
The UF-USA Program provides high school students the option of taking college-level classes in their home school environment and obtaining college credit for the courses. UF-USA allows high school students the opportunity to get a "jump start" on their college careers. They have the ability to complete several general education courses while they are still in high school. Students attend classes with their classmates at their home school site.
Classes are taught by qualified teachers from your local school faculty. These teachers participate in a summer training institute that prepares them to teach the college curriculum and provides them with valuable professional development in their teaching field. They are paired with a University Professor who coordinates the class with them during the entire school year.
Huron High School provides an English Writing and Physics course for seniors while recommended juniors can take a Chemistry class through the University of Findlay for the 2008-09 school year. To participate in this program, students must submit an applicatio,hhave a 3.2 cummulative grade point average and a teacher recommendation. Students earn three college credits upon successful completeion of each year long course.
